Imran is a Director at Gateway Law Corporation and heads the Restructuring and Insolvency Practice. He advises insolvency professionals, creditors, and debtors on complex domestic and cross-border restructurings and insolvencies, acting on both contentious and non-contentious matters. He is frequently instructed on high-value mandates involving distressed businesses, multi-jurisdictional issues, and significant commercial exposure.
Imran also maintains a strong disputes and international arbitration practice. He has successfully represented multinational corporations, publicly listed companies, and high-net-worth individuals in complex, high-value disputes before all levels of the Singapore Courts, and is regularly engaged where matters involve significant legal complexity or strategic risk.
Imran’s work has been widely recognised by leading legal publications. He was a finalist for Young Lawyer of the Year (Law Firm) at the ALB SE Asia Law Awards 2025, recognised as a ‘Rising Star Partner’ by IFLR1000 in 2024 and 2025, ranked as a ‘Notable Practitioner’ for restructuring and insolvency by asialaw in 2025, named an ‘ALB Rising Star’ in Singapore in 2023, and included by LexisNexis in its list of Asia’s Top 40 Under 40 Lawyers.
He is also actively involved in pro bono and community service, and was awarded the Public Service Medal in 2023 by President Tharman Shanmugaratnam in recognition of his contributions to the community.
