Roberto De Simone joined ONTIER in 2021 as a partner to lead the Real Estate department.
Over twenty years of experience within law firms of primary importance, he has consolidated a deep knowledge of the legal issues and market dynamics related to real estate and construction, providing assistance to major domestic and international operators in major transactions and across all asset classes.
Amongst other matters, he assisted clients in dismissals and acquisitions of real estate portfolios, sale and lease back, developments or regeneration of areas and building complexes, works and service contracts, social housing initiatives, procedures for the dismissal of public buildings, as well as in the privatization of the economic exploitation of commercial spaces, media & advertising spaces of the main Italian railway stations.
He developed a specific interest towards the industry of proptech, looking into the legal and business demands of those operators – ranging from start-up to bigger players – that integrate technology with real estate (smart real estate, contech, sharing economy, real estate fintech).
Roberto’s action field also encompass matters of corporate and commercial law, corporate governance, corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions, co-investment agreements and other main business and financial agreements.
Graduated in law at LUISS University of Rome, he obtained a master’s degree LL.M. in Corporate and Securities Law at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), winning the 11 Kings Bench Walk award for the best performance. He also achieved a Certificate Course in Real Estate Economics and Finance at LSE.
Member of Urban Land Institute (ULI), Global Real Estate Group at the London School of Economics (LSE GREG), Italian Proptech Network (IPN) and Associazione Italiana Giuristi Diritto Immobiliare (AGIDI).
His mother tongue is Italian, and he fluently speaks English, Spanish and French.
