Born in Gouda in the Netherlands (1965), I graduated from Leiden University in 1987 with a master degree in Dutch law. I was admitted as an attorney to the Bar of Rotterdam in 1987. I moved to Sint Maarten in 1988 where I was admitted to the Sint Maarten Bar in the same year. I focus on the general litigation practice and advise on corporate matters
with the emphasis on financing structures.
Apart from being a corporate lawyer and trial lawyer, I have certain
additional positions; I am a member of the General Audit Chamber of Sint Maarten (arsxm.org) which is a High Council of State charged with the examination of the financial and material management of the Government in the broadest sense of the word. I serve as a deputy member on the council for disciplinary matters and I am ranked as the Project
Finance law expert in Sint Maarten by Global Law Experts.
