Ardhiyasa Suratman (“Dias”) is the founder and managing partner of A&CO Law Office. Dias obtained his Bachelor of Law degree from Padjadjaran University, Bandung, majoring in International Law. He is a licensed advocate from the Indonesian Advocates Association since 2008 and a licensed Intellectual Property Consultant since 2015.
With years of practice in various prominent Indonesian intellectual property and corporate firms, his main areas of practice include contractual matters, intellectual property investigation, market surveys, anti-counterfeit projects and enforcement actions in relation to Software Licenses and Trademarks in Indonesia. In 2015, he obtained a scholarship from the Association for Overseas Technical Scholarship (AOTS) & The Japan Patent Office (JPO) to attend the JPO/IPR Training Course for IP Dispute Resolution Lawyers in Tokyo, Japan.
He is also a licensed Bankruptcy Receiver & Administrator from the Indonesian Ministry of Justice and a member of Indonesian Receiver and Administrator Association (Asosiasi Kurator dan Pengurus Indonesia – AKPI).
Experience
Dias has been handling various Intellectual Property (IP) matters, from the non-contentious matters to the contentious matters for more than 13 years. His extensive experiences in IP matters made A&CO, in 2017, was awarded with the Firms to Watch award from Asia Legal Business and in 2019 was awarded with the Top Legal Compliance Law Firm Award by one of the world’s leading design software companies for his performances and achievements.
Apart from the IP, Dias also handles contractual matters, Bankruptcy and Suspension of Debt Payment cases and many commercial civil litigation cases for clients from various backgrounds of industries.
Dias is also one of caretaker of Indonesian Bar Association (AAI) South Jakarta Branch as Vice President and active member of the Indonesian Advocates Association (Perhimpunan Advokat Indonesia – PERADI) and also the caretaker of Indonesian Intellectual Property Attorneys Association (Asosiasi Konsultan Hak Kekayaan Intelektual Indonesia – AKHKI) under division of Advocate & Consultancy. In addition, he is also the head division of IP & Advocate of Indonesian Creative Movement Jakarta (Gekrafs Jakarta). Dias is also a member of the Asian Patent Attorneys Association (“APAA”) and the Inter Pacific Bar Association (“IPBA”)
