The Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP) is a unique professional body providing members with a local, national and international learning and business network focusing on the responsible stewardship of assets today and across the generations.
STEP provides education, training, representation and networking for its members. Members advise clients on the broad business of the management of personal finance.
Full members of STEP are the most experienced and senior practitioners in the field of trusts and estates.
STEP Council: STEP’s governing body, the Council, meets three times a year.
STEP Committees: Committees of Council and Regional committees meet more frequently.
The Management and Finance Committee of Council meets regularly and directs business of the Society and consists of the Chairman, the Deputy Chairmen, Honorary Treasurer, the Honorary Secretary, the Chief Executive, the Company Secretary and senior Council members.
Other committees lead activity in technical and public policy activity and a number of special interest groups provide a focus in areas such as the charity sector and succession issues.
STEP branches: STEP branches have their own committees and officers who are responsible for their CPD, educational and social programmes.
