Greta graduated from the University of Stellenbosch and, after a stint as junior lecturer, completed postgraduate Masters’ courses at the University of Aberdeen in Scotland, inter alia in Competition Law. She joined the Bar from Deneys Reitz Inc (as it then was).
Greta is a member of the Legal Practice Council. She has acted as a Judge of the High Court and of the Labour Court on several occasions. One of her judgments, dealing with the constitutionality of security for costs is reported in SALR 2022 (3) SA 207 (GJ) and All SA LR [2022] 1 All SA 680 (GJ).
Greta’s practice centres on competition litigation and advice, labour litigation, schools law, constitutional and administrative law, and public interest litigation. In February 2019, she was acknowledged among the ‘40 in their 40s Notable Women Competition Professionals (Private Practice) in Europe, Americas and Africa’ by the Women@ Initiative.
